Na Slunci pokračuje pozvolné oživení aktivity. Na snímcích jsou změny patrné především rotací slunečního disku, zatímco nové aktivní oblasti se postupně vynořují na východním okraji. Rentgenová aktivita během dne zesílila a kromě ranních erupcí přibyly další dvě události C3.2 a C2.1. Solar Activity Index vzrostl na 4,1, zatímco NOAA indexy dosáhly hodnoty 2−. Přestože aktivita stále vyrůstá převážně z oblasti B, jednotlivé C-erupce jsou stále častější a naznačují postupné probouzení Slunce. Sluneční vítr zůstává klidný s rychlostí přibližně 351 km/s, hustotou 3,47 p/cm³ a meziplanetární magnetické pole nevykazuje výraznější odchylky.
Stanice Etna zůstává již desátým dnem bez nových dat.
Tomský spektrogram dnes nabídl pestrý průběh. Po půlnoci se na základní frekvenci a první harmonické objevil nízkofrekvenční zelený šum, který se po čtvrté hodině rozšířil na všechny harmonické a ukončil včerejší laminární proudění. V 07:30 jej přerušil štíhlý vlajkový stožár procházející celou výškou grafu, po němž následovalo období tmavě modrého pozadí. Ve 13:30 obraz přerušila tenká bílá vertikální linka a následoval přibližně devadesátiminutový bílý vodopád se zlatým lemováním, dosahující za třetí harmonickou. Druhý vodopád se objevil mezi 19:00 a 19:30. Závěr dne uzavírá trubka, ze které vytéká sliz směrem k první harmonické.
Mapa Windy ukazuje další vývoj proudění na severní polokouli. Dominantním útvarem se stala tlaková níže severně od Špicberků, která se posunula dále k severu a výrazně ovlivňuje proudění v arktických oblastech. Tlakové výše nad severním Ruskem zůstávají téměř beze změny a společně vytvářejí výrazné zvlnění severního tryskového proudění. Nad Atlantikem se proudění rozpadá do většího počtu menších útvarů a působí méně uspořádaně než v předchozích dnech.
Blesková aktivita během dne dále zesílila. Nad Spojenými státy vznikly nové bouřkové oblasti také na západě země a výrazně narostla aktivita nad Atlantikem. V Evropě se k dosavadním oblastem nad Španělskem, Francií, Itálií, Alpami a severní Afrikou přidaly nové bouřkové systémy nad Norskem a Švédskem. V Asii zesílila aktivita v prostoru mezi Čínou, Koreou a Japonskem, zatímco nad Filipínským mořem přetrvává tradiční bouřkové centrum.
Shrnutí
Patnáctý srpen přinesl další mírné oživení sluneční aktivity. Nové C-erupce zvýšily Solar Activity Index na 4,1 a naznačují, že období velmi klidného Slunce se může postupně chýlit ke konci. Tomsk během dne několikrát změnil charakter záznamu – od zeleného šumu přes štíhlé vlajkové stožáry až po dva výrazné bílé vodopády. Etna nadále mlčí. Na mapě Windy se stále výrazněji prosazuje tlaková níže severně od Špicberků, která formuje proudění ve vysokých severních šířkách, zatímco blesková aktivita dále sílí nad Atlantikem i severní Evropou. Ekonomické ukazatele zůstávají stabilní (BDI 2844, VIX 14,25, Fear & Greed 65 – Greed).

The Sun continued its gradual increase in activity. Although the visible solar disk changed mainly due to its rotation, the first signs of strengthening activity became increasingly apparent. Several C-class flares occurred throughout the day, with the largest events reaching C3.3 and C3.2. The Solar Activity Index increased further to 4.1, while the NOAA indices rose to 2−. Solar activity is still growing primarily from the B-class background, but the increasingly frequent C-class flares suggest that the quiet period may be slowly coming to an end. The solar wind remained calm, with a speed of approximately 356 km/s, a density of 3.48 p/cm³, and an interplanetary magnetic field of Bt 4.77 nT and Bz −0.21 nT.
The Etna monitoring station remained unavailable for the tenth consecutive day, with no new data received.
The Tomsk spectrogram displayed several distinct phases throughout the day. Around 04:00, yesterday's laminar flow ended abruptly. The low-frequency green noise that had appeared shortly after midnight expanded across all harmonics, filling much of the spectrogram. At 07:30, this phase was interrupted by a slender flagpole, extending through the entire height of the graph, followed by a period of deep blue background. At 13:30, a thin white vertical line marked the beginning of an approximately 90-minute white waterfall bordered by a golden edge, extending beyond the third harmonic. A second white waterfall appeared between 19:00 and 19:30. The final feature of the day was a pipe from which the familiar slime flowed down toward the first harmonic.
The Windy synoptic map was dominated by the low-pressure system north of Svalbard, which moved slightly farther north and became the primary steering feature of the atmospheric circulation over the Northern Hemisphere. The high-pressure systems over northern Russia remained almost stationary, forcing the jet stream into increasingly pronounced waves downstream. Over the Atlantic, the circulation fragmented into several smaller pressure systems, giving the flow a noticeably more irregular appearance than in previous days.
Lightning activity intensified once again. Across the United States, new storm systems developed over the western states while the already extensive activity over the Atlantic Ocean continued to expand. In Europe, thunderstorms spread beyond the morning regions over Spain, France, Italy, the Alps, and North Africa, reaching Norway and Sweden as well. In Asia, storm activity increased between China, Korea, and Japan, while the Philippine Sea remained one of the most active regions.
Summary
August 15 confirmed the gradual awakening of solar activity. The growing number of C-class flares pushed the Solar Activity Index to 4.1, suggesting that the recent period of exceptionally quiet conditions may be ending. The Tomsk spectrogram evolved through several distinct phases, from widespread green noise to flagpoles, two prominent white waterfalls, and finally the return of the familiar slime pipe. Etna remained silent for the tenth consecutive day. On the Windy map, the low-pressure system north of Svalbard became the dominant driver of atmospheric circulation over the Northern Hemisphere, while lightning activity continued to expand over both the Atlantic and northern Europe. Economic indicators remained stable (BDI 2844, VIX 14.25, Fear & Greed 65 – Greed).
