Stanice Etna zůstává i nadále bez nových dat. Jižní polokoule si i nadále zachovává charakter hustého pole izobar připomínajícího atmosféru Jupiteru. Blesková aktivita dnes celkově mírně zeslábla. Nad východním pobřežím Spojených států zůstávají dvě rozsáhlé bouřkové oblasti, avšak celkový počet bouří se oproti předchozím dnům vizuálně snížil. V Evropě zůstávají nejvýraznější oblasti nad Alpami, severním Německem a Finskem. V Asii převažuje aktivita nad severní Čínou, zatímco rozsáhlejší souvislé bouřkové systémy dnes prakticky chybějí. Shrnutí Šestnáctý srpen nepřinesl žádnou výraznou událost, ale potvrdil postupný vývoj posledních dnů. Sluneční aktivita dále pozvolna roste, aniž by opustila klidný charakter. Tomsk pokračuje v sérii jemných vlajkových stožárů a stále bohatších struktur v okolí proužku srsti, zatímco Etna zůstává nedostupná.

Evening Report – August 16, 2026 The Sun continued its gradual awakening. Visually, the only noticeable change was the ongoing rotation of the solar disk, while the X-ray flux maintained its characteristic jagged profile within the C-class range throughout most of the day. The Solar Activity Index increased further to 4.7, whereas the NOAA indices declined to 0 by the evening. The solar wind remained exceptionally calm, with a speed of approximately 302 km/s, low particle density, and a stable interplanetary magnetic field. Despite these quiet space-weather conditions, the Sun continues to give the impression of slowly emerging from its prolonged period of low activity. The Etna monitoring station remained unavailable, with no new data received. The Tomsk spectrogram retained the character of a flagpole day. The final prominent flagpole appeared at approximately 19:25. It was narrow and white up to the third harmonic, gradually transitioning into rainbow colours above that level. Shortly before it, a vertical rainbow column emerged, directly connected to the familiar fur stripe above the first harmonic. The fur stripe remained visible throughout the day, accompanied by increasingly complex background textures. Some of these resemble a finer form of rainbow microbubbles, while others appear within both the vertical line structures and the low-frequency horizontal bands, producing a subtle rail-like pattern. The Windy synoptic map evolved during the afternoon. The low-pressure system north of Svalbard, which had dominated the morning circulation, weakened considerably as most of its isobars disappeared. Its role was largely taken over by the low-pressure system over the Pacific, while the persistent high-pressure area over Russia continued to shape the wavy pattern of the northern jet stream. Meanwhile, the Southern Hemisphere retained its dense field of tightly packed isobars, still resembling the familiar Jupiter-like atmospheric pattern. Lightning activity eased slightly compared with previous days. Two large storm complexes remained along the eastern coast of the United States, but the overall number of thunderstorms appeared visually lower. In Europe, the most active regions extended across the Alps, northern Germany, and Finland. In Asia, activity was concentrated mainly over northern China, while extensive continuous storm systems were largely absent. Summary August 16 brought no major events but confirmed the gradual evolution observed over recent days. Solar activity continued its slow increase while remaining within generally quiet conditions. The Tomsk spectrogram remained dominated by flagpoles and increasingly refined structures surrounding the fur stripe, while Etna continued its prolonged silence. On the Windy map, the distribution of pressure systems evolved, yet the characteristic waviness of the northern circulation persisted. Global lightning activity showed a slight decline. The overall impression of the day can best be described as quiet restlessness. Nothing changed dramatically, yet many small details continued to rearrange themselves—as if another piece of the puzzle had quietly found its place. 📖
