Etna – manšestrová celta
Etna dnes vyměnila včerejší jehelníček za nový model.
Celý záznam pokrývala poměrně jednolitá proužkovaná struktura připomínající manšestr. Místo jednotlivých výrazných jehel tak vznikla souvislá manšestrová celta.
A tentokrát vydržela.
Potom už výraznější struktury ustoupily a zůstal pouze azurový šum.
Tomsk nám tak během jediného dne předvedl několik dobře oddělených režimů:
dojezd předchozího dne → dark blue → bílá a zlatá vertikála v zeleném poli → světlejší modrá → zelená vertikála se zlatým lemem → azurový šum.
A zřejmě není v nejlepší náladě.
Etna 1 naopak zůstala téměř čistá a ani ona svůj charakter během dne nezměnila.
Tomsk dokončil jízdu z předchozího dne, přešel do dark blue, několikrát jej prořízly vertikální struktury se zlatým lemováním a den zakončil azurovým šumem.
Cumiana dál hlídala svůj věčný plamínek.
V Atlantiku se islandská níže vrátila pod Island, sevřela proudění z Ameriky do úzkého hrdla a nad Evropou jej opět rozevřela do pravidelných proudů. Bouřková aktivita se mezitím během dne přesouvala z převahy nad Severní Amerikou směrem k severní Africe.
Má některá z těchto změn společného jmenovatele?
Nevíme.
A proto zatím zůstáváme u toho, co skutečně máme:
Prozatím víme, co se stalo. Ještě nevíme, proč.
Co? – zapisujeme.
Proč? – ověřujeme.
Co bude dál? – sledujeme.
A právě proto naše pozorování pokračuje.
Jen tak se nás nezbavíte. 😎📡🛡️
🜏 English Version 🜏
Daily Report – September 20, 2026
The Sun – The Chief Gets Out of Bed
After two very quiet days, the Chief began to wake up.
The current morning value was still only B3.82, but the maximum over both the previous 24 and 72 hours had already reached C3.35. A C1.1 flare was also recorded, while the Activity Index, which had remained at 0.0 during the previous days, rose to 1.9.
Both Kp and the NOAA K-index were around 3. Solar wind speed, on the other hand, decreased to 392 km/s, with a density of 2.43 p/cm³ and Bz at +0.86 nT.
After two days of an almost flat line in the B-class range, the first clear change had arrived.
The Chief got out of bed.
For now, however, he only got up. He has not started playing the drums yet. 😎
Etna – The Corduroy Canopy
Etna replaced yesterday’s pincushion with a new model today.
The entire record was covered by a relatively uniform striped structure resembling corduroy. Instead of individual prominent needles, a continuous corduroy canopy appeared.
And this time it stayed.
Even in the evening record, Etna did not change its clothes, and the same pattern continued until the end of the day.
Etna 1, on the other hand, presented a much cleaner picture. Some low-frequency noise appeared in the morning, but otherwise the record remained free of prominent structures.
Etna 1 did not change its outfit in the evening either.
The two stations therefore displayed distinctly different patterns, and the difference persisted throughout the day.
Tomsk – From Dark Blue to Azure Noise
Tomsk continued the ride from the previous day.
This regime ended at approximately 08:30, when the graph transitioned into continuous dark blue.
After 11:00, the blue was interrupted by a prominent white vertical line with golden edging. A green background surrounded it, beginning approximately one hour before the vertical structure itself and continuing for about half an hour afterwards.
At 13:45, another change occurred – the underlying blue shifted to a lighter shade.
Between 15:30 and 16:00, another green vertical structure with golden edging appeared.
After that, the more pronounced structures disappeared, leaving only azure noise.
Thus, within a single day, Tomsk displayed several clearly separated regimes:
continuation from the previous day → dark blue → white and golden vertical structure in a green field → lighter blue → green vertical structure with golden edging → azure noise.
For now, we simply record it.
Cumiana – The Eternal Flame
Cumiana continued the calm pattern of the previous day.
The graph remained practically clean, with the only persistent feature being our familiar eternal flame at the bottom of the graph.
Following the pronounced discharges of September 18, this was already the second day during which Cumiana watched the performance of the other stations almost without participating.
But the flame is still on guard. 🔥
Windy – The Angry Icelandic Low
The synoptic picture continued to follow the development of the previous days, but the Icelandic low returned beneath Iceland.
And apparently, it was not in the best of moods.
On the map, it was pronounced, deep and entirely purple. It was pressing against the Azores High, while the flow arriving from North America was squeezed beneath it into a narrow bottleneck.
After crossing the Atlantic, the flow opened up again over Europe and continued northwards in almost perfectly parallel bands.
As if drawn on music paper.
The Atlantic therefore continued to maintain a pronounced connection between North America and Europe; only the geometry of the flow had changed once again.
Lightning – Activity Shifts During the Day
The morning map showed the greatest concentration of thunderstorms across the United States – which, from the American perspective, meant predominantly nighttime activity.
Storms stretched from the East Coast across the central United States to the western mountain regions and the coast of Mexico.
In Europe, thunderstorms were concentrated mainly over the Mediterranean Sea, while in Asia more pronounced activity was visible over eastern Russia.
By evening, the picture had changed.
Thunderstorm activity over America had decreased significantly, while more storms appeared across northern Africa.
During the day, therefore, we observed not only a change in the amount of lightning activity, but also a shift in the regions where it was concentrated.
Markets
The BDI rose to 3,370, the VIX remained at 14.81, while the Fear & Greed Index continued to hold at 29 – Fear.
Conclusion
September 20 brought another change in the overall picture.
After two exceptionally quiet days, the Chief finally moved from the B-class range into the C-class range, while the Activity Index rose from zero to 1.9.
Etna replaced its pincushion with a corduroy canopy, which remained in place until the evening. Etna 1, on the other hand, stayed almost completely clean, and its character also remained unchanged throughout the day.
Tomsk completed the ride from the previous day, transitioned into dark blue, was cut several times by vertical structures with golden edging, and ended the day in azure noise.
Cumiana continued to guard its eternal flame.
Over the Atlantic, the Icelandic low returned beneath Iceland, squeezed the flow from America through a narrow bottleneck and allowed it to spread out again over Europe into regular streams. Meanwhile, thunderstorm activity shifted during the day from a predominance over North America towards northern Africa.
Do any of these changes share a common denominator?
We do not know.
And so, for now, we remain with what we actually have:
For now, we know what happened. We still do not know why.
What? – We record.
Why? – We verify.
What comes next? – We watch.
And that is precisely why the observation continues.
You are not getting rid of us that easily. 😎📡🛡️
