The Twilight of the Goddesses

Hypatia of Alexandria (by Alda Rana - Deviant Art)
The closure of the mystery schools, the destruction of the Hellenic Temples and the cruel murder of an outstanding mind brought to an end the great era of the Goddesses in the Mediterranean.
Hypatia is remembered now, primarily as a great mathematician. In the recent (rather good) film, Agora, she is represented as such, and the fact she outshone her famous father Theon, is also accurately represented.

In the 4th Century CE, she was the head of the Neoplatonic School in Alexandria (having been trained herself, in Athens) and so the philosophical inheritor of the great philosopher Plotinus. She understood, in a way few mathematicians now do, that the work of the mathematician Euclid had profound spiritual aspects as well as those of geometry. Euclid had also developed his Geometric theorems in Alexandria.

Hermes came from Switzerland!
Not really, but Paracelsus did and was known as ‘The Swiss Hermes’.

Born in Switzerland in 1493, Paracelsus became fascinated by medicine by the age of 16 and gained a doctorate degree in that subject. He learnt much of his practical medicine by working as a military surgeon in the service of the Venetians. He travelled widely. He had a license to practice as a physician in Basel and this gave him the opportunity to lecture at the University. Unlike most of his contemporaries he did not lecture in Latin but in German. He wished what he taught to be understood by everyone.

Known as Bombastus he lived up to the name, picking fights with many of the medical experts of the day whose ignorance he found highly irritating. He even went so far as to burn the books of Avicenna and Galen, in order to make the point that practice was much more important than theory.

Time Pathway Novels

The War between Darkness and Light has raged across the Earth - some would say across the Universe - since time immemorial. In the Egyptian Mythos this is symbolised in the battle between Osiris (who dies) and his desert brother Set. Osiris is ripped into many parts and these are lovingly recovered by his sister and wife, Isis. She falls pregnant and has a child, the hawk headed Horus.
Horus fights on against Set, and neither can prevail.

Egypt can rightly be seen as the source and fount of the wisdom that has flowed world-wide. But the corruption of that knowledge has also occurred and also followed its own dark channels.

The battle between Set and Horus occurs to the present day, with its current manifestation clearest in the Middle East, where the beautiful name Isis has been deliberately besmirched.

In the Time Slip novels, this battle is relived through the eyes of Rhory Bruce, a thirteen year old English boy.

Rhory and an Egyptian priestess upset 5,000 years of planning by the children of Set ...

Picture
When a teenage priestess, living 5,000 years ago in Ancient Egypt, connects with Rhory, an English schoolboy visiting the British Museum, she puts herself and him in grave danger.

The link they forge through the pathways of time is noticed.

She must escape the murderous followers of the God Set, and Rhory is hunted by their modern counterparts, the nefarious Society of Secrets.
